Bucks&Hens Night
Okay... this needs a bit of explaining..
But the first thing you should know is that Bucks&Hens night is a bachelor and bachelorette party of sorts for the "bride" and "groom." That's the part that needs to be explained.
IH had a proposal week of sorts. Basically all the residents (if they so chose) could propose to someone of the opposite gender. There were a couple rules to these proposals. Well, basically the only two rules were 1. it had to be between a guy and a girl and 2. it had to be caught on tape. The more elaborate the proposal, the better. All proposals had to be sent in to the head of the student organization on college. These video proposals were then voted on by all the members in this organization. The participants in the video that got first place get "married," those that get second are the best man and the maid of honor, and those that get third are the page boy and the flower girl. Bucks&Hens Night is where the college finds out which videos are in the Top 3.
The whole point of the night is that the guys go out and do their thing, and the girls go out (or as was the case this time - stay in) and do their thing, and then we meet up at The Royal.
The theme for the guys was "The Hangover." The Bucks all left campus at 3:00pm on Saturday to begin their day of fun and revelry. It was quite funny because they were all dressed up as characters from The Hangover. Some of the guys even managed to get a picture with a little baby. Who would trust them with a child, I don't even know...
Anyway, while the guys were out pub crawling (they went to a pub, drank, left, went to a different pub, drank, left, etc.), the Hens (aka the girls) went to the Green Room and had some fun. We sat around a big table and played "Never Have I Ever," and passed a cucumber between our legs around a circle (yes that was odd), and we even held a tennis ball with our necks and passed them around the circle (that was even odder...). Anyway, we had some finger food to nom on (mini meat pies and chips and such), and we had a mad dance party.
We decided that we had more fun without the Bucks than with them :]
Once we got to The Royal, all us Hens had a scavenger hunt/to do list of sorts. I'll put it in:
*Leave a lipstick mark on a boys cheek
*Kiss a security staff member
*Convince a guy to buy you a drink
*Do a bird shot, followed by the chicken dance
*Kiss a bartender
*Hug a local
We had to have photographic evidence for the entire list.. It wasn't too hard to get. I don't like going out with my camera because I know me and I'd probably just leave it somewhere. Bex takes hers with her because she's more responsible than me with stuff like that.
All in all it was a very fun night. Except for that fact that there were HEAPS of middle aged men there. More than was usual. This only increased my irrational fear of middle aged men. Especially since some of them decided it would be a good idea to hit on a young girl (aka me). That really increased my irrational fear (not so irrational now eh?) of middle aged men. That was the creepy part. I stayed in large groups after that.. Me and Bex left the pub around midnight in a large group. We called a Taxi to take us back to uni. It was what is known as a "maxi-taxi" because we had such a large group going back.
And that is the story of Bucks&Hens night. Bex and I made it back to 830 in one piece. I took off my heels and put on my pj's.. Two of the Bucks Tony and Tai wandered into 830 and sat and chilled with me and Bex and Kylie when she got back. Tony and Tai are actually really funny kids.. And they're really loud. Like really loud. But they're quite funny. And Tony owes me his pair of yellow sunglasses :]
We all know how much I like yellow :]
